Small little
munchkins making their way
To doorways all over
town,
Begging for goodies
to eat in the night’
Cookies and sweets to
chomp down.
Costumes of every
color and type,
Masks that are scary
and cool,
Princess and Batman,
Cowboy and Chief,
Skeleton, spider and
ghoul,
Worn by the children
as they have their fun,
Taking the time to
pretend,
Being a character
they want to be,
A fantasy role in the
end.
But all of us at some
point in our life,
Seek to become what
we dream,
Putting on costumes
of various sorts,
Hoping to be what we
seem
To want for our lives
as an ultimate end
A passion, a mission,
a role.
Trying on differing
outfits and plans,
Searching for just
the right goal.
But God in God’s
wisdom has seen to our needs,
Knows what we seek in
our need,
Taking the time to
guide us each day,
Willing to prod and
to lead.
If we are willing to
listen and hear,
Follow the way that
appears,
We will find comfort
and rest for our souls,
Ending our trials and
fears.
Go where God leads
you. Seek God’s advice.
Be open to God and
increase.
Discover God’s
goodness. Be calmed by God’s love.
And reside in God’s
mercy and …
Peace,
Alex
